NYDC holds town hall meeting in Chipata

On Friday, 22nd August 2025, we successfully hosted a vibrant Town Hall Meeting at the Assemblies of God Church in Kapata Constituency, Chipata.

The event was graced by the Provincial Minister for Eastern Province, Hon. Peter Phiri, MP, ably represented by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Lewis Mwape. We were further honored by the presence of His Worship the Mayor of Chipata, Mr. George Mwanza.

The meeting brought together young people, stakeholders, and community leaders to share insights on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and development opportunities.

Several key presentations and interactive sessions were delivered by:

CEEC – on business and entrepreneurship financing opportunities.

DEC – sensitizing youth on drug and substance abuse.

Chipata College of Education – highlighting education and skills training opportunities.

SNV – sharing programmes in agriculture, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods.

The discussions were highly engaging, giving the youth a platform to ask questions, share challenges, and propose solutions that can shape their future.

We thank all the participants for their active involvement, and we reaffirm our commitment as NYDC to continue providing platforms that connect young people to empowerment opportunities.
