New York, 17.04.25 – Ms. Kangwa Mubanga, Director Investments at the National Youth Development Council under the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, says the government has made significant progress in increasing youth representation in decision-making positions.
In her intervention during a session on “Core Principles of Meaningful Youth Participation” held on the sidelines of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum on 16th April 2025, Ms. Mubanga, who is leading the Zambian delegation, underscored the importance of youth participation in policy and decision making.
She highlighted the involvement of the youth in the development of Zambia’s revised 2024 National Youth Policy.
She called for strengthened partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders at national, regional, and international levels of the 2030 Agenda to succeed.
The Youth Forum held under the theme, “Youth at the forefront: Leveraging Science and Social inclusion for sustainable development,” ran from 15th to 17th April 2025. The Forum offered young people a visible platform to engage with Member States, have their voices meaningfully heard, and be included in the global dialogue on key issues affecting everyone.
